The most important thing was obviously the quality of the build and the interior and exterior finishes. Alan and his men had all this covered and we were very impressed with what we had seen so much so that we appointed him as our builder on the extensive enlargement and refurbishment of our house. Alan and his men completed the work on our house in a timely fashion.

We first met Alan and his men when we went to look at a new build house he had almost completed. We were very impressed with the quality and finish of his workmanship and that of his employees. Also we hadn’t realised that his contract with his then customer, extended to helping unload the shopping and removal boxes. Alan and his men had all this covered and we were very impressed with what we had seen so much so that we appointed him as our builder on the extensive enlargement and refurbishment of our house. He incorporated managing the site and sourcing materials whilst being hands on and on site everyday, working side by side with his men. It was good advice as from the first meeting he proved to be informative, knowledgeable and willing to listen. The day-to-day work was mainly done by a team of tradesmen with the same two men on site at all times to supervise they’re coming and going at the other trades, such as electricians, gas engineers etc.

They provided their own portaloo as well as tea making facilities so it didn’t encroach on me at all. Naturally there was an upheaval and dust, but at the end of each day, everything was made as hazard free as possible and I was never without a kitchen.
They were here for about eight weeks in December and January which were not the best months for building work, but it was all done within the agreed timeframe.
